The Stockholm World Water Week (SWWW), one of the key global gatherings on water issues, is set to take place from August 25th to 29th2024, with the aim of addressing pressing challenges related to water and sustainability under the theme of “Bridging borders: water for a peaceful and sustainable future”. This edition will serve as a critical follow-up to the commitments made at the UN 2023 Water Conference and the 10th World Water Forum in Bali.
The SWWW will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders to develop solutions to the world’s biggest water challenges, with topics ranging from transboundary cooperation, plastic pollution, global water processes and governance, youth empowerment, armed conflict and many more.
The International Secretariat for Water (ISW) will be actively engaged in this year’s Stockholm World Water Week, with a focus on shaping discussions and highlighting critical challenges. Our goal is to ensure that the perspectives of those most impacted by water-related issues, including youth, are prominently featured in the global water agenda.
Stockholm World Water Week 2024 will feature a diverse array of sessions, workshops, and events, setting the stage for the crucial actions needed to achieve global water security.

The ISW is proud to support a strong delegation of World Youth Parliament for Water representatives that will be at the forefront of ensuring that youth perspectives are not only included in the conversations but that they are heard and thoughtfully considered. For the first time this year, the WYPW is part of the Scientific Committee of the World Water Week and will be opening the week with key remarks during the opening ceremony.
